  • A new fund set up by Defra is open for applications from projects encouraging sustainability in areas such as travel, greener consumption of food and resources and recycling. Grants of between £100,000 and £200,000 are available, the deadline for first stage applications is 21st May. To register interest visit the Defra eTendering site on www.defra.gov.uk.
  • Nationwide Foundation Small Grants Programme offers grants of up to £5,000 to charities offering housing and/or financial support to older people or victims of domestic abuse as part of their remit. For more information please visit  www.nationwidefoundation.org.uk.
  • Woodward Charitable Trust is inviting applications from charities working with or in the areas of social and ethnic minority groups, prisoners and ex-offenders, homelessness, violence and abuse, arts outreach, disability, environment. The fund offers grants of up to £5,000 through their small grants scheme and grants of over £5,000 through their large grants scheme. The next application deadline for small and large grants is the 24th May. to find out more please visit www.woodwardcharitabletrust.org.uk.
  • Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards aim at organisations supporting children’s welfare and children’s educational projects, including special needs schools. The next application deadline for the grants of up to £4,000 is 30th June, for more information please visit www.tescoplc.com.
  • Trust for London – Open Programme’s next application deadline is 30th May. The Grants of up to £15,000 aim at organisations that support residents, communities and minority groups who are discriminated against or disadvantaged. For more information please go to www.trustforlondon.org.uk.

BME Forum

Are you a voluntary, community or faith group that works with black, Asian, and other minority and ethnic groups in the Greenwich borough? If yes, then come along to the BME Forum!

The BME Forum is the only voluntary sector led forum in Greenwich, for groups to hear and discuss the latest issues and concerns specific to BME communities. The Forum provides an opportunity to network with other BME groups and provides a vehicle for the BME community in Greenwich to lobby and feedback their views to policy and decision-makers.
