The 2012 Open Weekend 2010, will take place on 23rd-25th July. To find out what is happening in Greenwich click here.

Games Makers
The application process for London 2012 Games volunteers starts on 27th July. For more information about the application process click here.

Third Sector 2012 Network Meetings
GAVS is holding Third Sector 2012 Network Meetings for all interested voluntary, community and faith groups in Greenwich to discuss ideas and issues on the 2012 Games. The next meetings will be on 15th September and 17th November, 10am – 12pm, at The Forum @ Greenwich. If you are interested in attending contact Pauline at GAVS on 020 8858 1363.

Become Part of the Cultural Olympiad
Do you have an idea for a cultural event that is inspired by the Games and reflects London 2012’s values and themes: sport, culture, environment, health, education? If you do, then become part of the Cultural Olympiad. For more information click here.

Short Film Competition
Young film-makers between 13 and 25 years old can win a chance to get their work showcased at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by entering the short-film competition Film Nation. Submissions are open until 1st October 2010. For more information click here.

VCS Advocates Group
GAVS is now part of the Voluntary and Community Sector Advocates Group for LOCOG. This gives us an opportunity to directly feed back to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) the ideas and questions from Greenwich groups.


Funding

Unlimited Commissions
London 2012 and the UK Arts Council want to commission high quaity, ambitious work by disabled and deaf artists that can be seen and experienced by a broad range of audiences in a wide range of spaces. There are two remaining deadlines: 10th October 2010, and 18th April 1011. For more information visit the Arts Council website.

Sports Funding
London sports groups can obtain funding from the PlaySport London: Facility Fund to build or refurbish local sports facilities. For more information click here.

CompeteFor
London 2012 still has £1.7 billion in contracts to award. If you are interested in contracting opportunities you need to register with CompeteFor for news and notifications.

vcashpoint Round 9 Open to Applications
vcashpoint is providing funding for small volunteer-led projects that are inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Grants of up to £2,500 are available to individuals aged 16 to 25 years for projects that benefit a community and fit within v’s five themes for the 2012 Games: sport, culture, environment, health, education. The deadline for Round 9 is 6th September 2010 (12pm). For more information click here.
