Local groups sprinkle stardust on GAVS’ AGM

GAVS’ AGM was a truly star studded occasion this year, with sparkling performances from our member groups Friendship Society and Greenwich Gurkha’s Ex-Servicemen Association (GGESA), following on from inspiring keynote speeches from Paul Elliott CBE and from Mayor Cllr. Angela Cornforth.  Student photographer Deja Thomas of Click Click Pose was there snapping away to record the evening’s activities, (Visit our Facebook page for photos), as the GAVS L&Q Voluntary Sector Awards were presented to five deserving winners.  The evening was rounded off with a finger feast provided by The Camden Society.

In official business, GAVS’ Chair, Judy Smith stood down, having played a major role in leading GAVS for four years.  We thank Judy for her invaluable contribution to the organisation, and we welcome Alan Kerr as our new Chair.  Three new Trustees were confirmed, they are Kaye Sene,  Julia Fuller and Isaac MacAttram who makes a welcome return.

The whole evening was a showcase for the many creative facets of our wonderfully vibrant member groups. Thank you to all who attended and contributed.  To contact GGESA, please e-mail GAVS.
