Meet the Team

METRO GAVS team is as diverse and vibrant as the sector in Greenwich. Coming from very different backgrounds, METRO GAVS staff are working together to provide services that support the delivery and development of all voluntary, community and faith organisations and to support and develop the voice of the sector.

Andrew Kerr

Andrew Kerr has over fourteen years experience working in the Voluntary Sector and over eight years experience working in the Statutory Sector. His career to date has been varied and includes Public Health and Healthcare, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Community Development, Engagement and Participation, Data Protection, Sharing and Security, and Urban Regeneration, Renewal and Change.At METRO GAVS, Andrew is a Programme Manager, managing and coordinating the Greenwich Voice and Influence Programme. He also oversees the Greenwich Community Accountancy Programme and Young Londoners Fund. Previously, he led the UK-wide LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Fund, and was involved in the development of the My London Programme in Greenwich and Lewisham.Previously, Andrew worked for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham where he was a Commissioning and Programmes Manager, delivering on the borough-wide Inclusive Growth Programme. Prior to this, he was a Project Manager and led a number of Council-wide and department-specific governance, compliance, and digital transformation projects.Outside of METRO GAVS, Andrew is a Doctoral Candidate at King’s College London. His research focuses on youth experiences of, engagement with, and participation in urban regeneration and inclusive growth. He is also the Department of Geography Postgraduate Research Representative for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as a Seminar and Field Trip Lead for a number of undergraduate and postgraduate taught modules. Moreover, he is an Independent Consultant to the Metropolitan Police Service, and a Prevention and Testing Volunteer for Positive East and the GMI Partnership.
